In the past 2 years of running Swatch Social as a social media service for businesses, we’ve worked with a variety of companies. Many of these have been female-preneurs who were social-first i.e. relied on organic social media to get off the ground (just like us!). We asked what many of these female founders wanted to achieve through social media – These have been the most important goals:

*Establish credibility for products or services

*Build authority or thought-leadership

*Maintain a relationship with audience

*Turn a small-scale businesses into a profitable income stream

Through discovery calls, meetings and ongoing relationships, we’ve identified  a few common pain points:

  • Not knowing what to post

This is the most common – All clients we have worked with unanimously agree that a social media presence is vital to building a brand, but they don’t know where to start. They are so consumed with the daily operations of running a business and so, they churn out content without any direction or strategy. They may even have a huge pool of creative material (photos, videos) but don’t know how to translate these into social media assets.

We get it – posting daily to Instagram alone means 30 pieces of content a month, an overwhelming number! A tailored social media strategy can identify content categories, so there is a framework to help you save time. Alternatively, one on one social media consulting or coaching can also help business owners identify blind spots and workable solutions.

  • Pressed for time

Between juggling full-time jobs, family commitments and the daily operations of a business, they just aren’t enough hours in the day. Building a social media presence is time-consuming and this is where we step in – outsourcing social media expertise helps you focus on areas of the business that you naturally excel in so you create a better experience for your clients. If outsourcing is not a feasible option, try to automate whatever social media tasks you can e.g. scheduling.

  • Not knowing how to stand out

The social media landscape is saturated with competing brands vying for attention. This can be overwhelming to business owners who plan to launch on social media. They compare themselves to and often emulate their established counterparts.

Social media professionals have worked with many different brands and understand the homework required to help each unique business stand out to the correct and relevant audience. We have actionable strategies in place to help implement your brand strategy onto your social platforms.

  • Imposter syndrome

Many women we’ve worked with have created incredible businesses, ideas and are hesitant to take big steps or put themselves out there on social media. This can happen at any stage of the business – you want to start but don’t know where, you’re ready to scale but not confident about raising your prices, you want to sell more confidently but feel conscious about social judgment.  It’s important to detach yourself from your business’s perception and realize that social media is simply a means to reach your business goals.

  • Not seeing quantifiable results from social media

Maybe you have an excellent content calendar in place but you’re not able to reach any business goals and begin to wonder if it’s worth putting in hours of effort. A consultation with a professional may give you insights into where you need to tweak your strategies, what metrics you should be focusing on and how to work smarter.

Building a social media presence when you’re busy as an entrepreneur isn’t easy, but it’s possible. And we want to help you get there by:

*Elevating your social media presence and creating an incredible experience for your customers/ clients

*Helping you create a system of content creation that helps you save time and work smarter

*And most importantly, equipping you with the right tools to see your business succeed on social media!
